News Release       For Release: Immediate                                                     Contact: Beth Parker Stout Date: April 19, 2010                                                            Phone: 910-524-0092   SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM   WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH – The Town of Wrightsville Beach offers a service called the Special Needs Assistance Program for any Wrightsville Beach resident that may be disabled, elderly, or is hearing or vision impaired and anticipates needing assistance during a hurricane evacuation. The program assists its members in arranging transportation to a local shelter or other local residences.   Interested residents may contact Beth Parker Stout at the Wrightsville Beach Police Department, 910-256-7945, Extension 408 to request a registration form or by emailing bparker@towb.org.   For those with critical special needs, such as oxygen, radiation needs or dialysis requirements, they can contact New Hanover County Special Needs Registry by calling 910-798-6406.                                                                     ###
